Bio
Sebastian earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Georgia State University, specializing in Violin Performance, and a Master of Music degree from the prestigious Hugh Hodgson School of Music at the University of Georgia. He trained under renowned violin pedagogues, including Dr. John T. Maclean, Dr. Christos Galileas, and Kenny Lambert, who helped shape his artistry.
Born in the small village of Chirakkadavu, India, Sebastian’s passion for music began at the age of three, learning sacred and folk genres through oral tradition. With a father who was a professional violinist, Sebastian was inspired early on to explore his own talent, picking up the violin at the age of 10. His journey has since led him to perform with numerous Greater Atlanta choirs, symphony orchestras, and modern instrumental ensembles, with a special love for collaborating in jazz violin.
Sebastian’s true passion lies in music education. As the director of the Rockdale Community Orchestra, he brings his leadership and vision to the ensemble, fostering a strong sense of community and artistic growth. He also has over 12 years of experience running his own private violin studio, directing ensembles such as the Sebastian Music Ensemble and the Gwinnett School of Music Concert Orchestra (GSMCO), and leading the Music Ministry for the Teen Choir at Saint Alphonsa Catholic Church. His teaching philosophy is inspired by the legendary Ivan Galamian, focusing on helping students realize their fullest musical potential in a way that connects with them personally.
Currently pursuing his Doctorate in Music at Northwestern State University of Louisiana, Sebastian is dedicated to advancing the future of music education with innovative and inclusive teaching practices. He is committed to fostering a vibrant, creative, and supportive learning environment for his students, guiding them toward achieving their musical dreams.
